This week on Desert Island Dishes I speak with Jessie Inchauspé, better known online as the Glucose Goddess.
Jessie is a French biochemist, bestselling author and the founder of the Glucose Goddess movement. She translates complex metabolic science into practical, everyday habits that help people stabilise blood sugar and improve overall wellbeing.
Her approach is constructive: she encourages adding simple, evidence-based practices rather than cutting out foods. Jessie does not promote a single diet; instead she focuses on small, science-backed changes such as the order in which we eat foods to reduce glucose spikes. Her book, The Glucose Revolution, became an international No. 1 bestseller and has been translated into 40 languages.
Jessie earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from King’s College London and a master’s degree in biochemistry from Georgetown University. Her work blends rigorous scientific training with accessible communication to reach a wide audience.
Her commitment to this work is rooted in a personal journey. After a life-changing accident at 19, Jessie faced mental health challenges that shaped her interest in metabolism and recovery. She has since used that experience to help others adopt sustainable habits for better health.
