Why this recipe works

This hot spinach dip is rich, creamy, and perfect as an appetizer for cocktails, game day, or a simple get-together. The melted cheddar topping browns and bubbles in the oven, giving you the comforting, gooey texture everyone loves.

The recipe uses plenty of fresh spinach to add substance and balance the richness of the cheeses. If you like, add artichokes for a classic twist — they’re optional because the generous amount of spinach provides great flavor and texture on its own.

Be sure to taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper before baking — that step makes a big difference. This dip is also a great vehicle for spices like paprika, oregano, or a pinch of red pepper flakes if you want a little heat. Make it your own and tailor the seasoning to your taste.
