These Italian Nachos are a creative twist on a classic snack. Instead of tortilla chips, crisped egg roll wrappers become the crunchy base, topped with savory sausage, creamy Alfredo, pepperoni and fresh vegetables for a hearty, crowd-pleasing appetizer or casual meal.

This version of nachos swaps Mexican flavors for Italian-inspired ingredients, resulting in a dish that’s rich, comforting and unexpectedly addictive. The crunchy egg roll wrapper chips stand up well to saucy toppings and melted cheeses, while Italian sausage and pepperoni add depth and familiar deli-style flavors. It’s an easy recipe to customize with ingredients you already have on hand.
I first tasted Italian nachos at a local restaurant and knew immediately I wanted to recreate them at home. The concept is simple: make crisp chips from egg roll wrappers, cook the sausage, warm the Alfredo, layer the toppings and finish under the broiler for a few seconds until the cheese melts. The whole process takes about 15 minutes of hands-on time and yields a great appetizer or main for 3–4 people.

Popular Substitutions:
- Chicken – Use leftover rotisserie chicken or shredded cooked chicken instead of sausage for a lighter option.
- Wonton wrappers – These are similar to egg roll wrappers and can work as an alternative if that’s what you find at the store.
- Mozzarella – Add or swap in mozzarella or another favorite melting cheese for extra gooeyness.
These Italian nachos are excellent for family dinners, casual entertaining, game nights or whenever you want a shareable, flavorful plate. The recipe is flexible enough to adapt to your pantry and preferences: add jalapeños for heat, extra Parmesan for nuttiness, or swap the pepperoni for salami or cooked mushrooms.

Ingredients
- canola oil
- 8 sheets egg roll wrappers
- 16 ounces mild Italian sausage
- 15 ounces light creamy Alfredo sauce
- 1/2 cup pepperonis, cut in half
- 1/4 cup sliced olives
- 1 tomato, sliced into wedges
- 2 tablespoons pepperoncinis
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup Italian-style blend grated cheese
Instructions
- Brown the Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked, about 10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Pour canola oil into a large pot to a depth of about 1/2 inch and heat over medium. Cut each egg roll wrapper into 4 squares. Fry 4 squares at a time, flipping after 2–3 seconds, and cook an additional 2–3 seconds until crisp. Remove to paper towels to drain. Repeat until all wrappers are fried.
- Warm the Alfredo sauce in a small saucepan over low heat until heated through.
- Arrange the fried wrapper chips on a large oven-safe pan or baking dish. Spoon warm Alfredo sauce over the chips, then top with cooked sausage, halved pepperonis, sliced olives and the Italian cheese blend. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan.
- Place under the broiler for about 30 seconds—just long enough to melt the cheese. Remove, then finish with tomato wedges and pepperoncinis. Add sliced jalapeños if you want extra heat.
