Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m a little late posting — it was a long day at school and then I went straight to the gym — so I didn’t have time to bake anything this year. Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to make a bunch of cute, chocolatey treats, but my mom saved the day and made a giant heart cookie for my dad and brother. It’s so adorable I want to take a huge bite, or pile ice cream on top and make a massive cookie sundae. This giant M&M cookie is also great for anniversaries or any celebration. Whether you’re single or in a relationship, treat yourself to some flowers and chocolate today. Xoxo

Recipe Type: Dessert
Prep time: 15 mins
Cook time: 25 mins
Total time: 40 mins
Serves: 4
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 packages M&Ms
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- Cream the softened butter with the brown and granulated sugars using an electric mixer or stand mixer with a paddle attachment until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla until combined.
- Add the flour mixture gradually on low speed and mix just until incorporated—avoid overmixing.
- Fold in the M&Ms and chocolate chips by hand so the candies stay intact.
- Press the dough evenly into a greased heart-shaped cake pan.
- Bake for about 20–25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the cookie to cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
