Ingredients

  • 1 8-count can of biscuits
  • 2 cups frying oil, canola oil recommended

Maple Glaze

  • ¼ cup butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp milk, plus more if needed
  • 2 tsp vanilla or maple extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Pour oil into a large pot and heat over medium-low until hot but not smoking.
  • Gently stretch each biscuit into an oval shape, taking care not to tear the dough.
  • Fry the stretched biscuits in batches, cooking 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  • For the glaze, combine butter, brown sugar, and milk in a small saucepan. Heat over medium, whisking frequently for 3–5 minutes until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth.
  • Remove from heat, stir in the vanilla or maple extract, then gradually whisk in powdered sugar, ½ cup at a time, until you reach a smooth, dip-able consistency. Add a little extra milk if the glaze becomes too thick.
  • Dip each warm donut into the maple glaze, allow excess to drip off, and serve immediately. Enjoy!
