Travel drains my energy. I love traveling, but when I come home I’m often too tired to tackle cleaning, laundry, unpacking or cooking.
I recently returned from Food Blog Forum in Asheville, NC — an intense, inspiring few days full of sessions, early mornings and late nights. After a trip like that, I look for simple, satisfying weeknight meals that don’t require a lot of time or fuss.
Enter Baked Manwich Burritos — an easy, tasty solution I turn to after busy travel or long days. These burritos are a quick way to transform familiar sloppy joe flavors into a handheld, baked dinner everyone will enjoy.
If you know Manwich, you know it as the go-to sloppy joe sauce. If you haven’t tried it, it’s an easy pantry staple that turns ground beef into a flavorful sandwich filling in minutes. My husband was hesitant at first because of the onions and peppers in some varieties, but the Original flavor won him over.
Manwich isn’t just for sloppy joes. I use it in all kinds of dishes — from baked burritos to stews, pasta sauces, and even on pizza for a quick flavor boost. It comes in three sauce options: Manwich Original, Manwich Bold, and Manwich Thick & Chunky. We usually reach for the Original, but fans of chunkier texture love Thick & Chunky.
One nice bonus: Manwich cans are free from artificial flavors and preservatives, which is a plus when you want a simple, convenient option without extra additives.

- Yield: 5 burritos
Ingredients
- 5 Soft Tortilla Shells
- 2 Cans of Manwich
- 1 pound ground beef
- Olive Oil
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Aluminum Foil (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Heat a few teaspoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the ground beef until fully browned and no pink remains. Drain excess grease.
- Add one can of Manwich to the cooked beef and stir to combine. Remove from heat.
- If tortillas need softening, microwave them for about 20 seconds so they bend easily.
- Place tortillas on a flat surface. Spoon some beef mixture into the center of each, tuck in the ends, and roll into burritos.
- Spoon a few tablespoons of sauce from the second can into the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange the burritos in the dish, pour the remaining sauce over them, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil if desired and bake for about 20 minutes. Foil helps keep the cheese from over-browning.
